July 18, 2018: Dr. Fujioka receives recognition as a Clinical Instructor at the Kois Center in Seattle, WA. Pictured at left is the Director of the Kois Center, Dr. John Kois, presenting the glass lighthouse, symbolic of a Clinical Instructor, to Dr. Fujioka.


June 19-21, 2018: Dr. Fujioka mentors the Treatment Planning 1 Course at the Kois Center in Seattle, WA.

July 30, 2017: Family and staff of Fujioka Dental Group, Inc. volunteer to help out at the annual community service project of the Honolulu County Dental Society to clean-up Ala Moana Beach Park. This makes it twelve years in a row that our office has participated in this event.


June 15-17, 2017: Dr. Fujioka mentors the Occlusion II Course at the Kois Center in Seattle, WA.


April 6, 2017: Dr. Fujioka is presented with a plaque of appreciation by University of Missouri-Kansas City School of Dentistry Alumni Board president, Dr. Mike Strand, for his 5 years of service as a Trustee on the Board.

August 14, 2016: Family and staff of Fujioka Dental Group, Inc. volunteer to help the Honolulu County Dental Society in their annual community service project- a Beach Clean-up at Ala Moana Beach Park. This marks the 11th year in a row that we have joined in this effort.


April 21-23, 2016: Dr. Fujioka mentors the Periodontal/Restorative Interface Course at the Kois Center in Seattle, WA.


March 20 & 27, 2016: Dr. Fujioka is invited to mentor the Tokyo Tucker Study Club on two consecutive Sundays at the Yoshitomi Dental Clinic in Yoyogihachiman, Tokyo, Japan. Following the 2-day program, Dr. Fujioka is presented with an etched-glass piece which reads:

"In appreciation of your committed mentorship and dedication to enhancing clinical skills and advancing the knowledge of dentistry in Japan."


August 23, 2015: For 10 years running, family and staff of Fujioka Dental Group, Inc. have volunteered manpower to the Honolulu County Dental Society's annual Beach Clean-up. This year, Ala Moana Beach Park was once again the site of our efforts.


August 16-20, 2015: Dr. Fujioka mentors the Implants: Fixed & Removable Track Course at the Kois Center in Seattle, WA.


September 15-19, 2014: Dr. Fujioka mentors the Biomechanics I & II Track Course at the Kois Center in Seattle, WA. Pictured at left with Dr. Fujioka are 3 dentists from Poland- Dr. Michal Sypien, Dr. Maciej Zarow, and Dr. Tomasz Sypien.


August 23, 2014: Dr. Fujioka participates as an operator during the annual international meeting of the Academy of RV Tucker Study Clubs in Honolulu, Hawaii. Held at the University of Hawaii School of Dental Hygiene, the cllinical session showcases the Tucker techniques "put into action" as operators perform conservative cast gold restorations on patients while being observed by other Academy members and guests.


July 13, 2014: For the 9th straight year, family and staff of Fujioka Dental Group, Inc. volunteer to help the Honolulu County Dental Society clean-up Ala Moana Beach Park as part of their annual community service project.

July 7, 2013: For the 8th straight year, family and staff of Fujioka Dental Group, Inc. join with the Honolulu County Dental Society on this Sunday morning to help clean-up Ala Moana Beach Park.


May 17, 2013: Fujioka Dental Group, Inc. sponsors a table at the Aloha Medical Mission 's 30th Anniversary Event in support of their "30 Years of Inspiration, Community Service, and Volunteerism."


April 13, 2013: Dr. Fujioka is presented with the Legacy Diamond Benefactor Pin by the Roy J. Rinehart Foundation during the annual Alumni and Friends Recognition Breakfast in Kansas City, MO.


February 2013: Dr. Fujioka is voted to Honolulu Magazine 's Best Dentists list for the fourth straight year.


December 9, 2012: Nancy Dudoit, former long-time dental assistant for Dr. John Fujioka, is pictured with our patient, Marian Carson-Heydon (on the left), and featured in the Star Advertiser article on the Waikiki Health Center's outreach program, Waikiki Friendly Neighbors , which coordinates volunteers like Nancy in lending a helping hand to the elderly. After a 30+ year career with the Fujioka Dental Group, Inc., Nancy continues to devote her time and energy to worthwhile causes that positively impact people's lives in our community. Congratulations Nancy!


July 8, 2012: Staff and family of Fujioka Dental Group, Inc. volunteer to help clean-up Ala Moana Beach Park as part of Honolulu County Dental Society's annual community service project. Since its inception, this is the 7th straight year that we have participated in this event.


May 11, 2012: Jonathan Fujioka accepts the Honorary Alumni Certificate on behalf of his late grandfather, Dr. John M. Fujioka, from USC President, C.L Max Nikias in a ceremony held in Los Angeles, CA to honor Nisei students who were enrolled at USC but were forced to abandon their studies following the passage of Executive Order 9066 in 1942, thus denying them the opportunity to complete their degrees at USC.


April 13, 2012: Dr. Fujioka speaks on "Pursuing Excellence with Conservative Cast Gold Restorations" during the Scientific Sessions at the Midwest Dental Conference in Kansas City, MO with co-presenters Dr. Guy Deyton and Dr. Russell Tabata in a course entitled "Choosing or Losing: An Evidence-Based Approach to Restorative Dentistry."


April 12, 2012: Dr. Fujioka is elected to a 5-year term as Trustee for the University of Missouri-Kansas City School of Dentistry.


February 2012: Dr. Fujioka is voted to Honolulu Magazine's Best Dentists list for the 3rd straight year.


June 26, 2011: Dr. Fujioka is selected as "Mentor of the Year" for the Queen's Medical Center General Practice Dental Residency program for July 1, 2010-June 30, 2011. Residents were Dr.s Shepard DeLong (Oregon Health Sciences School of Dentistry), Kirsi Hakkinen (Harvard University Dental School), and Kelliann Rita (University of Colorado School of Dentistry).


June 18, 2011: Dr. Fujioka is presented with the Hawaii Dental Forum's "Member of the Year" for the 2010-2011 academic year. As an affiliate member of the Seattle Study Club , members of the Hawaii Dental Forum are "dedicated to the advancement of team treatment planning and total case management as the ultimate tool for achieving ideal comprehensive care. They have also committed themselves to excellence in their profession and in the management of their practices."


July 23, 2009: Dr. Fujioka earns Mentor status with the Kois Center in Seattle, WA an Academy of General Dentistry approved didactic and clinical program offering the latest advances in esthetics, implant and restorative dentistry. This evidence-based approach to dentistry deciphers fact from fiction when it comes to new technology and techniques. The "Mentor" designation requires completion not only of a nine-course dental education curriculum encompassing over 200 credit hours but also successful completion of both a written examination and a clinical skills assessment.


October 3, 2008: Dr. Fujioka is featured in the Hawaii Herald's "Herald Salutes" for his Lifelong Learning and Service Recognition (LLSR) award from the Academy of General Dentistry.


July 19, 2008: "The Academy of General Dentistry (AGD) is pleased to announce that Lawrence M. Fujioka, DDS, MAGD, of Honolulu, received the 2008 Lifelong Learning & Service Recognition (LLSR) for his commitment to lifelong learning, volunteer services to communities in need, mentorship to associates and new dentists, and participation in organized dentistry. Dr. Fujioka received this award during the AGD's 56th Annual Meeting & Exhibits, in Orlando, Florida. The LLSR is a formal acknowledgment of the AGD Mastership awardees. AGD Masters who receive this additional recognition must have completed more than 1,600 hours of continuing dental education in all disciplines of dentistry, including 550 hours dedicated to hands-on skills and techniques and more than 100 hours of service to the community."


October 7, 1999: Dr. Fujioka is awarded Fellowship in the Academy of Dentistry International during the USA Section annual Convocation Ceremony in Honolulu, Hawaii. Fellowship in the Academy is by invitation to "those dentists who have distinguished themselves in our profession." The Academy is an honorific organization founded to assist in providing dental treatment and continuing dental education in countries where the dental profession is less fortunate than we are in the USA.


Nov/Dec 1998: Past and Present Hawaii Dental Association Presidents, Dr. John Fujioka (1975) and Dr. Larry Fujioka (1998) grace the cover of the Hawaii Dental Journal, Nov/Dec 1998 issue.


September 27, 1996: Dr. Fujioka is inducted as a Fellow of the International College of Dentists at its 66th Annual Convocation in Orlando, Florida. An honorary organization for the recognition of outstanding and meritorious service to the profession, the College presented Dr. Fujioka a membership plaque and gold key symbolic of this Fellowship for conspicuous service rendered the art and science of Dentistry.


June 30, 1996: Dr. Fujioka receives the Academy of General Dentistry's prestigious Mastership award during the conference ceremony at the Academy's 44th Annual Meeting in Portland, Oregon. The Academy of General Dentistry (AGD) is an international organization of 35,000 general dentists committed to continuing dental education in order to provide the best possible care to their patients. To earn the Mastership award, AGD dentists must first acquire AGD Fellowship status by passing an exam and completing 500 continuing education course hours within 10 years. Masters must then complete 600 additional hours, 400 of which must be fulfilled through "hands-on" courses.


  October 6, 1995: Dr. Fujioka is awarded Fellowship in the American College of Dentists at the ACD's 75th Anniversary Annual Meeting in Las Vegas, Nevada. The American College of Dentists, established in 1920, recognizes dentists who have made significant contributions to advancing dentistry, oral health care and humanity. The ACD is actively involved in professional education, research, health care ethics and policy. Fellowship in the ACD is by invitation only and is based on nomination and peer review.


July 21, 1995: The Father/Son team of Dr. John Fujioka and Dr. Lawrence Fujioka is featured in an article written by Star Bulletin columnist, June Watanabe. Entitled "Success Smiling on Isle Dentist Dynasties", Ms. Watanabe examines the reasons why so many offspring follow in the dental footsteps of their parents.


February 1992: Dr. Fujioka is awarded Fellowship in the Pierre Fauchard Academy , whose mission is "to consistently focus on professionalism, integrity, and ethics worldwide, by our own conduct as worthy role models, by the advancement of dentistry to the highest level, by supporting and honoring colleagues for their distinguished work, research, contributions, and public service, and by providing excellence in programs, education, and leadership in oral health care."


July 14, 1986: Dr. Fujioka is awarded Fellowship in the Academy of General Dentistry during the Convocation ceremony at the Academy's 34th Annual Meeting in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. The Fellowship Award is presented to dentists who seek to provide the highest quality of dental care by remaining current in their profession. To accomplish this goal, Dr. Fujioka completed 500 hours of continuing dental education, passed a comprehensive exam, and fulfilled five years of continuous membership in the AGD.
